Building Blocks of the Aging Network to Increase Home Modification

Welcome to this section of the Toolkit, a collection of home modification and repair activities of the Aging Network (Older Americans Act-funded agencies including State Units on Aging, Area Agencies on Aging, and Title VI programs for Native American elders).

Seven Building Blocks outline key approaches taken by Aging Network agencies across the country to enhance home modification and repair activities in their states and communities, with examples of programmatic and policy efforts of Aging Network agencies for other state and local agencies to consider for replication.

These approaches and examples were identified through an extensive environmental scan of local and state home modification efforts of the Aging Network. Data sources included surveys conducted by the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology in partnership with Advancing States and USAging of State Units on Aging, Area Agencies on Aging, and Title VI grantees to ascertain efforts in home modification and repair.
